my "snowbath"

got some hard intervals done today, and came home for an ice bath.
theyre incredible, but it takes electricity to freeze water into ice cubes in the refrigerator, and why waste it when theres and icebath waiting for you outside -or a snowbath as the case may be...
-slid off my pants and shoveled some snow over my legs.

 there really isnt much like sitting in the snow and just letting your body get cold. its like being dunked under water by someone, if you just hold your breath and accept it, its only slightly unsettling. people put forth so much effort to try to stay warm, but if they just accept the cold and the slight discomfort it brings for a few minutes, your body too will accept it, and itll feel amazing.
note: my space blanket helped a ton to keep my chest and shoulders warm and dry. in case youre not familiar with space blankets: you know how keeping a baked potato in tin foil keeps it warm, well my body is the baked potato, and the blanket is the tin foil (it reflects your body heat back at you).

  1. dude! i think thats what i need to do lol. i miss icebaths! ive slowly started working out again. i started on sunday. i just did 20 mins easy on the treadmill to see how i would feel, was in some pain but able to tolerate it. then i did "cindy"

  2. thats great, cindy took my enitre upper body out of commissionfor like two days! how many rounds did you make? how are your hands?
    im lookin to do "murph" this week, ill tell you how it goes!
    (for anyone that has NO idea what were talking about, cindy and murph are crossfit workouts involving hundreds of pushups, pullups and bodyweight squats)

  3. i dont remember id have to check my log, i know it was much more than i did the first time i did it. i reached double digits lol. my hand are killing and my upper body is trashed lol. when you gonna do murph, ill do it with you. friday? sometime?

  4. sure bro, or tonight if you can make the dive to naper. im gona do angie instead tho, im not to excited about the runnnig part of murph, my feet arent gona have it today :).
    how are the butterfly pullups coming along?
